Compare Cruise Prices

6 sailings on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Viking, MSC and Princess, priced per night by cabin grade. Filter by line, region, duration or budget. The fares are representative figures compiled from cruise news, not live inventory — each card links out to the line's own search.

ℹ️ Prices are per person, double occupancy and are representative — always verify current availability and pricing with the cruise line or booking partner.

How to read these prices

A cruise fare is not one number. The figure a line advertises is a per-person rate for two people sharing the cheapest cabin on the ship, before port fees, taxes, gratuities, drinks, wi-fi and anything ashore. Two sailings quoted at the same headline price can land thousands apart once those are added, and a longer sailing almost always shows a larger headline number while costing less for each night aboard.

So the table below restates every listing as a nightly rate. That is the figure that makes a 7-night Caribbean week and a 13-night transatlantic crossing comparable, and it is usually the first thing that reorders a shortlist. Alongside it sits the balcony premium — what the same sailing charges to move from an inside cabin to one with a window you can open — because that premium varies far more between lines than the headline fares suggest.

Prices here are representative rather than live bookable inventory, and the page says so above. Treat them as the shape of the market for the week they were compiled: which lines sit where, how wide the gap between mainstream and luxury really is, and what a cabin upgrade tends to cost. Confirm any specific sailing with the line or a booking partner before you plan around it.

Cost per night, cheapest first

Reordered by nightly rate, Carnival Jubilee is the cheapest night aboard at $100 for its inside cabin, and Viking Neptune the most expensive at $460 for its balcony. The most expensive night on this list costs 4.6 times the cheapest. Moving from an inside cabin to a balcony costs between 46% and 63% more depending on the line — a spread wide enough that the cheapest inside fare is not always the cheapest balcony. Viking Neptune sells no inside cabin, so there is no balcony premium to quote.

Cruise pricing: frequently asked questions

What does “per person, double occupancy” mean?

It is the per-guest price when two people share the cabin. A cabin at $849 per person, double occupancy costs $1,698 for the two of you. Sailing alone usually does not halve it: most lines charge a single supplement of 50–100% of the second fare, so a solo traveller often pays close to the full double-occupancy total for the room.

What is not included in a cruise fare?

Port fees and government taxes are usually quoted separately and add roughly $150–$300 per person on a week-long sailing. Gratuities run about $16–$20 per person per night unless prepaid. Drinks beyond water, basic coffee and the buffet, specialty restaurants, wi-fi, shore excursions, spa treatments and the casino are all extra. Flights and any pre-cruise hotel night are yours to arrange.

Is a balcony worth the extra money?

It depends far more on the itinerary than on the ship. On a scenic route — Alaska, the Norwegian fjords, a transatlantic crossing with many sea days — the balcony is where you spend the time between ports, and the premium is easy to justify. On a warm-weather island week with a port call most days, the cabin is somewhere to sleep and the money often buys more as excursions. The premium on the sailings compared here is set out in the table above.

Why is the same length of cruise so much cheaper on one line than another?

Mainstream lines price the cabin low and make their margin on board, through drinks, dining, excursions and the casino. Luxury and expedition lines fold most of that into the fare, so the headline number is far higher but the on-board spend is close to zero. Comparing the two on headline fare alone will always flatter the mainstream option; compare what each includes.

When is the cheapest time to book a cruise?

Two windows tend to work. Wave season — January to March — is when lines compete hardest on perks such as onboard credit, free drinks packages and reduced deposits, and it is the better window if you want a specific cabin. The other is inside about 60 days of sailing, when unsold cabins are discounted, though by then the choice of cabin and often the airfare have both got worse.

How often is this comparison updated?

A rebuild is attempted weekly, and the derived figures on this page — the per-night costs, the balcony premium, the ranking — are recomputed from whichever set is current every time the site is published, which is daily. The set below was compiled on September 30, 2026, which is 31 days ago: the most recent rebuild did not produce listings that met the checks on this page, so the previous set is still showing rather than a page of sailings we could not verify. Treat every fare here as needing confirmation with the line.
