Cookies and GDPR Notice

Notice updated .

This site sets no cookies. On your first visit a dialog asks you to choose Accept required or Accept all; both buttons give you full access to everything. Your choice is stored in your browser’s localStorage under the key yei-consent, never on a server, and you can change it at any time with the “Cookie choices” link in the footer.

How consent works here

  1. On your first visit a blocking dialog appears before anything non-essential could run. Google Consent Mode starts as denied for analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization.
  2. The two buttons carry equal weight. Accept required keeps non-essential scripts off, and the site works identically, with no feature withheld. Accept all would allow a future analytics tag to run.
  3. Analytics is not switched on: the measurement ID is a placeholder, so even after “Accept all” nothing is loaded or sent today. The choice only matters once analytics is enabled.
  4. Your choice is stored locally under the key yei-consent, with the value granted or denied. The same choice applies to every publication on youressentialinsights.com, because they share one browser origin.
  5. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it is treated as denied and the dialog is not shown.
  6. You can change your choice any time using the “Cookie choices” link in the footer of every page, or cookie choices here, which reopens the dialog.

Categories of storage used

CategoryStatus hereWhat it would do
Strictly necessaryOne localStorage keyRemembers your consent choice. Without it the dialog would reappear on every page.
AnalyticsPlaceholder, not switched onWould count visits and page views. Would run only after “Accept all”. Nothing is loaded or sent today.
AdvertisingNoneThere are no ads and no ad network on this site.
Cookies set by this siteNoneThe site sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.

Under the UK and EU GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, non-essential storage requires your consent. That is why analytics is denied by default, why the dialog gives both answers equal prominence, and why a Global Privacy Control signal is honored.

You may change or withdraw consent at any time using the footer link, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings, which removes the stored key entirely. To exercise any other data right, see the privacy policy.

Opening this site from a file

These pages work when opened directly from disk with no web server. In that mode the analytics loader is disabled outright regardless of your consent choice, because there is no origin for it to report to and it should not attempt a network request.
