Good morning, sellers! Welcome to October 8, 2026's edition. Today: Prime Big Deal Days closed last night with no published results and mixed seller reports, FBA holiday peak fees start in a week with sample per-unit costs, and Adobe's holiday forecast puts Cyber Monday ahead of Black Friday by $2.2 billion. Let's dive in…
Data gathered at 6:20 AM ET, October 8, 2026.
This is a quiet news day. No new Seller Central policy, fee or Amazon Ads announcement was verifiable for October 6-8, 2026, and no section is padded to hide that. Items below carry their real dates.
1. Top Story of the Day
Prime Big Deal Days closed October 7 with no published results, and seller reports split
What happened: Prime Big Deal Days ran October 6-7, 2026, with new deals dropping at midnight, 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM PDT. As of this run, neither Amazon nor Adobe has published a post-event sales figure we could verify. The only numbers on record are Adobe's pre-event forecast, covered October 5: $9.9 billion in US online spending across the two days, up 9.2%, inside an October forecast of $95.8 billion, up 8%.
Seller reports in a Sellers Ask Sellers thread are forum anecdotes, not data, and they point both ways. One seller called it their "Best Oct deal day ever by far." Others noticed slower sales on the second day, and one asked whether the event "got lost in the noise."
Why it matters: Amazon's event page promotes Alexa for Shopping tools that let shoppers set deal alerts, check a 365-day price history and set auto-purchase triggers at a target price. A shopper can see a full year of your pricing, so a discount that looks deep against today's price may look shallow against last spring's.
Expert take: Do not read a verdict into the forum. Three seller reports cannot confirm or refute a forecast built on Adobe's full-market data. Wait for Adobe's published results before judging the event, and compare your own October 6-7 units and ad-attributed sales against the same two days last year, not against a normal week.
Action items:
- Pull your October 6-7 sales and ad spend now, while the event is fresh, and log which deals and price points carried the volume.
- Check your own 365-day price history on top ASINs before setting November deal prices.

2. Amazon Policy & Program Updates
FBA & Fulfillment
FBA holiday peak fulfillment fees apply from October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027 across FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment and Buy with Prime. The average increase is $0.32 per unit. The 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge, in effect since April 2026 until further notice, applies on top. The date was covered September 28; the per-unit examples are new here.
Sample moves in Supply Chain Dive's reporting: a mobile device case (small standard) goes from $2.49 to $2.68, up $0.19 or 7.6%; a T-shirt (large standard) from $6.14 to $6.53, up $0.39 or 6.4%; a TV (extra large, 50-70 lbs) from $48.57 to $51.38, up $2.81 or 5.8%. The percentage hit is heaviest on the cheapest, lowest-margin items.
Amazon also warns that "sellers may encounter lower capacity limits during the holiday shipping rush" and advises getting inventory in during October. Treat any inventory still not received by the end of this month as at risk. (Supply Chain Dive)
