Amazon Seller Briefing: September 15, 2026
Amazon confirmed Prime Big Deal Days for October 6-7, 2026, starting 3:01 a.m. ET across 22 countries — a day earlier than the inferred October 7-8. Deal submission closed September 8, and the final FBA inbound deadline is September 16. A reported extension to September 22 is unverified.
Good morning, sellers! Welcome to September 15, 2026's edition. Today: Amazon finally dates Prime Big Deal Days — October 6-7, a day earlier than the dates most calendars were built on — and a reported deadline extension that no Amazon source backs up. Let's dive in…
Data gathered at 6:05 AM ET, September 15, 2026.
Amazon published no new Seller Central policy or fee announcement that could be verified in the past 24-48 hours. This edition is short because the verified material is thin — padding a quiet day would not serve you.
1. Top Story of the Day
Amazon confirms Prime Big Deal Days for October 6-7, a day earlier than the inferred dates
What happened: Amazon announced early on September 15, 2026 that Prime Big Deal Days runs October 6-7. The event opens at 12:01 a.m. PDT (3:01 a.m. ET) on October 6 and closes at 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7 — 2:59 a.m. ET on October 8, a 48-hour window. It covers Prime members in 22 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United States and the United Kingdom, across more than 35 categories. Amazon notes dates may vary by country.
Early deals are live now. Amazon says more than one million items are at their lowest price of the year so far, with discounts up to 45% on select products and new deal drops three times daily at midnight, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. PDT. Carmen Nestares, Vice President of North America Marketing and Prime Tech, framed it as "the perfect time to get ahead on seasonal shopping."
Why it matters: This publication carried "Prime Big Deal Days 2026 will run October 7-8" as Monitoring on September 4, 7 and 8. Amazon had said only that the event returns "at the same time as last year," and October 7-8 was an inference from the 2025 event. The inference was wrong by a day.
The seller-side deadlines were set before the dates were public and have not moved. Deal submission closed September 8, and the final FBA inbound deadline, for Amazon-optimized splits, is tomorrow, September 16 — 20 days before the October 6 start. The event ends eight days before FBA holiday peak fulfillment fees begin on October 15, so event orders ship before the peak rates apply.
Expert take: The inventory decisions are already locked; what the date change touches is everything you schedule by calendar. Ad budget rules, repricer schedules, price-change freezes and seller-fulfilled staffing built on October 7-8 now start a day late and run a day past the event. The time zone is the second trap. The event is set in Pacific time, so a schedule that ends at midnight Eastern as October 7 closes cuts off the final three hours — the stretch that runs until 2:59 a.m. ET on October 8.
Action items:
- Move any campaign budget rules, repricer schedules and promotion start times keyed to October 7 so they open at 3:01 a.m. ET on October 6.
- Set end times against 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7, not midnight Eastern.
- Confirm that anything inbound for the event ships against the September 16 Amazon-optimized splits deadline — it is the only inventory cutoff left.

2. False Alarms & Noise Filter
Unverified — "Amazon extended the Prime Big Deal Days deal submission deadline from September 8 to September 22."
What we actually know: A September 11, 2026 My Amazon Guy article reports a 14-day extension to September 22 covering Best Deals, Lightning Deals, Prime Exclusive Discounts and coupons. It attributes the change to "a September 8 update posted to Seller Central" but links no announcement and quotes no Amazon wording. No Seller Central or Seller Forums post confirming it could be found. The Seller Forums thread titled "Prime Day 2026: Your Deals Deadline Extended!" concerns the June Prime Day event, where the deadline moved to June 9, 2026 — not Prime Big Deal Days. CoreTrex on September 7 and ppc.land on September 15 both still give September 8 as the close.
If you missed September 8, check the Deals dashboard in your own Seller Central account before planning around a September 22 window. (My Amazon Guy; CoreTrex)
