About the Women’s Strength Intelligence Briefing
Updated .
The Women’s Strength Intelligence Briefing is an independent publication for women who lift in the United States. It aims to help lifters and the coaches who work with them train stronger, safer and more consistently through same-day decisions with a stated verification step, rather than hype, supplement marketing or vague training talk. It is published as part of Your Essential Insights, no individual author is named because none is claimed, and it is not affiliated with ACSM, NSCA, the IOC or any gym or manufacturer.
Who publishes this
This site is published by the operator of Your Essential Insights
(youressentialinsights.com) at the /womensstrengthtraining/ address. There are no staff
biographies, bylines or professional credentials on these pages, and that is deliberate:
no individual is named because none is claimed. The publisher is the site and its
operator, and the way to reach them is the contact page.
Who this is for
There is no single assumed reader. Every edition and every guide serves five reader profiles, and advice that differs between them is labelled:
- A — beginners (0–6 months of lifting).
- B — intermediate lifters (6–24 months).
- C — advanced lifters (2+ years of structured training).
- D — coaches and trainers.
- E — lifters returning from injury, working within medical clearance.
When advice is identical for everyone it is written once, with no label. The test for every sentence is the same: does this improve training quality, safety or recovery today? If not, it does not belong here.
Editorial standards
- Primary sources first. Guidance comes from peer-reviewed sports medicine and strength research, and from position statements and guidelines of recognised professional bodies and clinical organisations. Reports from forums, social media and blogs are labelled as unverified community reports and never treated as strong guidance.
- Every recommendation is testable. Each states the action, why it helps, and how to verify it or feel the difference.
- Not reported means not reported. A figure that cannot be verified is written Not reported or Details unavailable rather than estimated.
- Worked examples use hypothetical numbers. They show the arithmetic so you can substitute your own values; they are not measurements.
- Calculators show their formulas. The tools run in your browser and use only the numbers you enter.
- Not professional advice. No physician, physical therapist or certified coach reviews these pages individually. They do not replace medical or professional coaching advice.
- Accuracy is not guaranteed. Errors are possible and pages can go out of date. Where a guideline or your clinician’s advice differs from a page here, follow the guideline or your clinician.
- Corrections. Reports sent through the contact page are prioritised. A fixed page carries an updated review date.
Every guide uses the same layout: a short quotable answer under the heading, steps written as action, why it helps and how to verify it, a plain-words explanation of the mechanism, a worked example, a visible last-reviewed date, and links to the official sources the page relies on.
Our editorial rules
- No hype. Plain claims, with the limits stated.
- No body-shaming and no supplement marketing. Training variables are framed around performance, safety and recovery, and nothing here is a product endorsement.
- No invention. No made-up figures, quotes, studies or people. Where a figure matters and cannot be verified, the page says Not reported or sends you to the primary source.
- Safety before performance. Where a performance tip carries injury risk, the risk and the point at which you stop come first.
- Version-sensitive material is dated. Guidelines and research evolve, so pages carry a review date and link the source.
How this is funded
Today there is no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsorship on this site. Nothing you read here is paid placement, and no manufacturer, retailer or gym reviews pages before publication. If that ever changes, this page and the terms will be updated first and any such link or placement will be clearly marked.
Independence
This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ACSM, NSCA, the IOC or any gym, brand or manufacturer. For official position statements and guidelines, go to the organisations themselves, for example ACSM and NSCA.
